A Common Tale

Kahani ghar ghar ki (Tale of every house)

For quite some time I wanted to share my views on harmony in marriage
I really wonder why a couple who live together have children & love each other start drifting apart. Some point of time they become indifferent to each other or even start hating each other. This is what brings divorce or separation between a couple.

Many couple do stay together for various reasons but as strangers (Ek chat ke neche bhi log ajnabi hote hain). There may be sex without love. Finances & children are two basic ones. Any relationship requires nurturing else it becomes a wild shrub.

Sensitivity, understanding & acceptance are the ingredients of a successful marriage. It is said that for a marriage to work the man has to become deaf & wife blind. I think there is a grain of truth in it. There is a fine line between ego & self respect. I wonder where adjustment ends & one becomes a door mat.

Would like to have the views of the readers.

I guess there are some marriages which start without any love (arranged marriages) and start liking each other..then start loving each other...then the bondage becomes an inseparable bond...
when their is mutual respect and understanding...adjustment comes naturally...there is no question of doormat or ego..

I fully agree with your post. However the fact remains that a perfect match will always remain a dream.Marriage at best is an adjustment, and at worst it is a compromise.

trouble arise when there is no give & take
one gives & another takes
or one is financially dependent on the other
