I am sorry for going back on my word to not write on sex for some time. But why not? Sex is not a 4 letter word, Sexy is. I am not a psychoanalyst or urologist – no intention to compete with Dr Prakash Kothari or Deepak Chopra. But I do feel that a large section of Indian house wives have no control over their sex lives. They have to be available 24/7 like an ATM machine ready to dispense with cash whenever the card is inserted.

In fact, here no checking of balance also else they can be termed hard to get, cold or frigid. I was shocked to read that a middle aged man battered his young wife for denial of sex a few months after marriage. I think in India many men treat sex as an after dinner mint. They have to perpetually convince themselves that their flag is flying whereas in the best of times it is half mast.

So like a bull in China shop, they barge in without even knocking at the door. Then it is wham, bam thank you Mam. Like a few laps in a pint side pool soon they feel exhausted, turn around and start snoring, without even bothering to brush their teeth to get rid of tobacco or nicotine smell or other such substances. Feeling relived at the end of the ordeal, wife has to make considerable effort to sleep.

In old movies on the first night the poor girl was dressed like a Christmas present and was supposed to sit still. After mid night the husband used to come to unwraps the present and relish the goodies available. For an uninitiated lady it can be very painful to have some one all over her without not even, may I but who bothers this is a man’s world after all.

I have no intention to be another Khushwant Singh or Shobha de but will not blame wives if they feel frustrated and may have an affair. Most won’t, seeing the consequences and remain frustrated all their lives. Now of course times may have changed, but I wonder how many wives are on the top? Even by turn.
