Taliban is increasing its influence across Pakistan. A time will come when either Pakistan will become Talibanistan or there will be a massive civil war. In both cases, there will be a heavy flight of population. The rich already have a beachhead in west; the not so rich will be turning to India. Already migration from Bangladesh is a problem. Who is going to handle another frontier? Then there is a real danger of Taliban settling down here seeking refugee status. BJP will perceive this to be a design to change the demographic profile of India. I wonder how Raj will tolerate so many outsiders. My mind hangs sorry, crashes when I think of the consequences. Hope my fear is misplaced!

Yes Siree, things are getting scarier and scarier by the day. As you have rightly said the Pakistani middle classes have their beach heads in the West and in India. But can India afford to take in all these refugees if things do come to such a pass? There will surely be a backlash from the Hindu right wing and no one in his/her right senses will be able to blame them.We Indians will find ourselves between a rock and a hard place in trying to maintain our humanitarinism which comes naturally to us because the majority of our countrymen are polytheists,and the imperatives of trying to hold our own against the onslaught against our unity and democratic way of life that Talibanisation of the majority of those living in Pakistan will subject us to. The immediate danger is that all Indians will have to forego some of the personal freedoms that we have so far taken for granted.
