Obama in the shadow of Gandhi

No sooner poor President finished his acceptance speech after getting noble peace prize across the world there was this huge commotion. From why Obama to why so soon and then to bring India on its side, as if we are bum tops (big guns) it was if not Gandhi, why Obama? The anger is entirely misplaced and illogical.

In America everything is instant: Instant love, instant conception, instant miscarriage/delivery, instant marriage and instant divorce, then instant re-courtship/marriage and so on. Having initiated two big wars and on the verge of starting a third one it pays to include its president on the peace keeping committee. After all, the most notorious criminal had made the sheriff.

Have you not heard of using a thief to catch another? Or it takes one thorn to extricate another. Having settled why Obama and why so soon, now let us come to why not Gandhi? After all Obama has five letters Gandhi has six. First reason USA has only one Obama, India has Gandhi factory – Some dead, some living and some yet to be born.

So Gandhi has a fair chance to be in the august company of Obama. Then original Gandhi is well past his expiry date. Awarding him a peace prize will placate no one but will instantly give a handle to our beloved Behanji to take to the street and in the process deflect the supreme court missives directed at her dear white and black elephants.

She is already pitting her elephants against Gandhiji’s skinny goat. The odds against Obama are much more compared to Gandhi. Obama took over from Bush the war machine being the father of 2 famous wars. It takes time to take a U turn which Obama did again instantly. Then he has to deal with Taliban who have no dharma or Iman (religion).

Whereas Gandhi had to deal with Shaitan, Haiwan, Beimaan and Meharban who had a fig leaf of being fair and reasonable despite not being Insaan being the meanest and greediest of its time with the cunning of Shakuni and shamelessness of all a well…whatever, sorry, whoever.

Obama has to deal with Taliban. Gandhi had a mass following; Obama has a mess sorry miss following Rahul again a Gandhi giving him a good chase. So before Gandhi could cross the finish line Obama had to move fast and again instantly. So may I rest my case please.

The integrity of Nobel prize went out the window a long time ago when Arafat and then Jimmy Carter won the award.

he changed the international political climate and significantly elevated the way other countries view us. i think that's a pretty concrete achievement.

One would think that Americans should be happy their President is getting a Peace Prize instead of having shoes thrown at him.

Too early is better than too late. Anyway, he did accomplish what I thought I would never see in my lifetime, and the majority of the country voted for him.
