At least in Bengal the ray classic shatranj ke khiladi is being enacted in real life at the cost of public at large. Ms Mamta Banerjee is taking her role as opposition very seriously indeed & is opposing every thing done by left whether it is nano or lalgarh.

Every now & then running to PM with more & more outrageous demands which as expected are being politely turned down like a little girl wanting to buy any thing & every thing available in market place & threatens to throw tantrums ( Ms Banerjee has been well behaved till now a very difficult feat ).

On one hand she wants lal garh to be declared disturbed area on the other hand she wants center to cease operations in lalgarh as, as per her Maoists are not there & left is getting control over the area.

I wonder what prevents TMC to send her supporters there as well unless they are Maoists. I am not saying that left are paragon of virtue there divide & rule policy has run its course & is perhaps outdated as under the banner of TMCthe opposition is giving them a very tough fight one eye for two teeth.

Sitting in writers left has long lost touch with reality whether out of arrogance or indifference or both. Lal garh will perhaps be the waterloo with Maoists melting with locals.

It is a matter of time before they raise their head again once the central forces leave the place which they will in due course. Locals whether out of fear of Maoists or hate for left will provide the mercenaries full support till their misrule is intolerable & by default left gains entry there again which they will but mean while hoogly will continue to be painted red
