When I read this word I become wary at once of the context & for most of the time my hunch is right & the phrase becomes a fig leaf for accomplishment of devious designs.
The whole country these days has become huge chess board with multiple players & we citizens have become pawns in the hands of politicians in their insatiable thirst of power.
The divide & rule game perfected by British continues to be played though the British have left us long ago. Because of multiple tiny kingdoms fighting always we have been invaded time & again now of course the world has become a huge board game but this is beside the point.
Coming back to India I do not know who are the persons against whom such blasts are directed. I know any act of violence takes place with absolute political patronage whether - attacks against churches or riots.
The moment begins there is huge hue & cry in the name of protection of minorities or majority & in the din & roar the half hearted semblance of inquiry is buried in the quick sand of time.
Commissions after commissions waste public money with no action taken on the much delayed report most of the big criminals are affiliated to some political bigwig protected & ultimately silenced by them.
Once they outlive their utility or the cases are watered down. Is it secularism that Bala Sahib appreciate sadhwi Or Hussain’s works are vandalized forcing him to self imposed exile or Taslima is hounded like a pariah dog for what?
Do we have freedom of expression in this country? There can not be two police forces in a city if we call so called vandals or hooligans as moral police. I wonder why Bangladesh borders can not be sealed.
How it is so easy for the illegal migrants to melt away. Apart from religion politics we also have caste, quota & language politics all distracting public because no one has the solution to the real problems faced by the country like poverty, corruption, crime against women, lack of infrastructure.
I wonder how easily an ecological, security project like “Ram Sethu” was given a religious color. How easily terror outfits like LTTE, SIMI, Huji, Bajrangdal are defended by politicians with impunity.
It is said that we can fool some people some time but we can not fool all people all the time this exactly is happening in the name of political process umpteen bandhs are imposed on us our walls are being vandalized & we are paying a huge price for mis governance.
I remember the famous scene from the Bollywood movie “Chak de India” where the coach played by Sahruk khan claims that he wants players playing for the country & not for their states or organizations.
This is what is secularism & I feel it is being gang raped everyday with no respite.
Bharat ki atma soti hai soti rahegi
Bharat mata roti hai roti rahegi
Our conscience has gone in to a long slumber & no one is responding to the desperate cries for help from humanity.
