I wonder why Mr. Raju, a bright young man & the scion of a wealthy family did what he did & how it remained concealed for so long despite there being so many checks in the form of auditors external & internal, audit committee, independent directors, rating agencies institutional investors, ministry of company affairs, media, competition, disgruntled ex employees, sec, ifrs, sox & HIS OWN CONSCIENCE.

I wonder why every one looked the other way while the highway robbery was being committed ?

Mr Raju not only broke the trust of all who dealt with him he also broke the back bone of Indian it industry. I am sure he will get away with it. Maximum he will get is 10 years which will be considerably reduced & will ensure good treatment in jail.
I am sure the charge sheet will be full of glaring holes & he will get bail in no time. His lawyers will try their best to prolong the proceedings as along as they can.

Why he may even contest election & can become the minister, having the portfolio of his choice. He is no less than Lalu Yadav or Shibu Soren. Parties will need money to fight election once recession melts away his landholdings will be worth a fortune & every on e will be at his door steps for favors.

As the public memory is short another scam will be unearthed & Mr. Raju will be soon forgotten just like crb or Harshad Mehta & will live happily ever after. In the country full of corruption & pollution life is difficult for an honest person & a cake walk for a cheat.
